Popit application will be locked for all participants in the first phase of the study. In this page, you can find instructions and helpful tips to use Popit correctly while the app is locked.

Important notes

How the Popit app should look like during this phase

Follow these 4Bs to ensure the device works correctly.

  1. Bluetooth: Keep your phone’s Bluetooth on all the time.
  2. Background: Keep the application in the background of your phone. Do not swipe it away.
  3. Blister: Make sure Popit Sense device is attached securely to your pill blister.
  4. Beep sound: 4 “beeps” sound and a green light from Side Button indicates successful pill registration.

#1 Turn on Bluetooth

Keep your phone’s Bluetooth on at all time so Popit Sense device stays connected.

#2 Keep App in the background

Popit App should be running in the background of your phone at all time. To do so, open Popit App and press the home button. Do not swipe it away.

#3 Attach device to pill blister

  1. Press and hold the end of Lock Button.
  2. While pressing Lock Button, slide your pill blister in.
  3. Release the end of Lock Button. Press the other end of Lock Button to completely secure the attachment.

#4 Take your pills

  1. To activate all sensors, hold Popit Sense and the pill sheet with both hands.
  2. 2 beeps indicate that sensors are active and waiting for you to take the pill.
  3. Take the pill within 15 seconds after you hear the beeps.
  4. 4 beeps and the green light from the Side Button indicates successful pill registration.

Check also the battery

Do a long press (2 secs) on Side Button. If there is a “beep” sound and orange light, your battery is OK. If not, your device is running out of battery. Change battery as instructed here.
